The strength of the United States and its business model lies in an ability to engender trust based on the universal principles embodied in its constitution and value system. Our currency is backed by the “good faith and credit” of the government. The availability of consumer credit is based on this premise. Most people therefore assume that the credit giver or entrepreneur responsible for managing credit transactions is trustworthy. If and when this trust is violated, the system and business model self destructs. The question is what must we do to ensure that this does not happen? How can we proactively preserve the spirit and intention of our constitutional legacy. Can business ethics be mandated? My wallet was stolen on set last April. I lost everything. I know now I can be a victim of potential identity theft, but I’m no longer worried about anyone getting away with using my personal information.

Great! Always looking to receive and pass on good tips and tricks regarding how to protect my identity. Your reminder will keep me aware of the information that Census workers should never ask for. In today’s environment we have to be aware that anyone asking for any type of personal information could have an immediate or hidden ulterior motive, which could prove to be a step toward robbing you of your identity and trashing your reputation.
